We attended a fun cooking class at Sur La Table with a group of friends, Pre-covid. Not sure if they are doing those sorts of classes right now? I think classes, book groups, or any sort of hobby group might be a good start? It's tough without at least one 'starter couple' (LOL) to ask for friend recommendations. If one of you is meeting people, it gets easier to find a person that is part of a couple and wants to meet out soemwhere.

I moved to where I live 6 years ago and met everyone I know here through my now husband. I also worked from home until recently, and man, it was tough! I only started to feel like I had a decent social life recently.

I think this sort of thing is particularly hard during these covid times. Things will for sure get easier as we learn to live with covid, and find ways of in person safe socializing.
