Exactly! Your parents did a fantastic job in raising you to not focus on my beauty. I grew up in an Indian family where looks and status were highly prized, and there was a lot of judgment. It really did a number on me for years, as I never felt enough. You’re clearly very aware to realize these differences at a young age and to be ok with defaulting to comfort over flash. Of course, this pandemic and remote everything has been such an eye-opener for so many, right? And as long as you are aware of who these judgier people are, you know where you stand.
